I enjoy making my little characters on vintage cotton reels but especially when they are dark in nature which for me gives the artwork a sense of sadness and I suppose a feeling of uneasiness. I just think it has an extra edge as I never would like to do twee and a lot of the stuff around in my line of work is certainly that.

I don't know what it is about Gothic images whether they be of architecture, artworks or fashion but I absolutely love them. I am drawn to the darkness and mystery of it all and whenever I see a person dressed as a Goth I just want to home and draw or make a piece of art, I find it so inspirational.

Busy making for upcoming craft fair and I am concentrating on the cards at present which are all hand stitched or original watercolours. They are taking quite a while to complete as I keep adding more things and of course I will never be able to sale them for what they are actually worth but hey ho I still love making them.

Frida Kahlo brooches seem to be very popular so have been happily making some new versions and will also be making some into necklaces with bright and beautiful colours.

It's been a while since I last posted but I have been busy making some new and exciting pieces for my upcoming craft fair in Manchester. I have also decided to diversify a little so have made some necklaces some of which are abstract textile pieces and some character based such as Alice in wonderland. I have also been working on more figures on vintage cotton reels and some Frida Kahlo pieces. I hope you all enjoy the work featured and I promise to write and show more of my work soon.
